Exclusive: Kubbra Sait on the massive competition...
After being an anchor, hosting live events for several years Kubbra Sait took a plunge into acting. After getting popularity for her small yet interesting role in Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Sacred Games, Kubbra has been receiving interesting film and series offers. The actress says that while she has kicked off her career in movies it is a long way to go as the field is too competitive, but she isn’t complaining.
She says, “Competition is very important as it only raises your quality of work. I think I am a total believer in the process of testing (through auditions). That way, you discover people who are actually meant to play those roles. I believe that if you don’t get a film it’s because you don’t fit the vision of the filmmaker. But yes sometimes it does get disheartening, if you don’t get a project that you are dying to do.”
The Jawaani Jaaneman actress further adds, “I like it when I see people from outside the industry getting good projects, as they come with so much hunger and so much talent. They have so much to prove and that is wonderful. So, be it an insider or an outsider you must have that hunger within you to just prove yourself and do better. At the end of the day the talented from the lot end up making a mark. Of course, kids from within the industry have a certain advantage and that must be acknowledged. So ya, competition has never really bothered me but has only helped me to do better if I need to stick around and be relevant in the industry.”
