Even as the movie released in cinemas in several parts of the country, it did not see a theatrical release in Mumbai. Now, Kangana has urged the Hindi film industry to come forward and show support to the film.

She wrote, "Meanwhile waiting for Bollywood Mafia to keep our political and ideological differences aside just how I don't find it difficult to appreciate genuine art maybe they can also rise above petty human emotions and for once let art win #Thalaivii."

"Thalaivii” showcases the varied aspects of Jayalalithaa's life, tracing her journey as an actress at a young age to becoming the face of Tamil cinema, as well as the rise of the revolutionary leader who changed the course of the state's politics.

Kangana recently wrapped up the shoot of 'Dhaakad'. She is now shooting for her next 'Tejas', where she plays a fighter pilot. The Indian Air Force was the first of the country's defence forces to induct women into combat roles in 2016. The film takes inspiration from the landmark event. 'Tejas' is directed by debutant Sarvesh Mewara. The film will be RSVP's second film which pays a tribute to the Indian military after the immensely successful film "Uri: The Surgical Strike” which was released in January 2019.

Rhea Chakraborty Offered This Whopping Amount for Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 15?

Actress Rhea Chakraborty was spotted at an Andheri studio earlier this week, sparking speculation that she may appear on Bigg Boss 15, the show hosted by Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. The buzz around Rhea’s appearance on the popular reality show gained momentum after Tejaswi Prakash, who is going to be one of the housemates and Dalljiet Kaur, a former Bigg Boss contestant, were spotted at the same studio on Monday.

It was not clear if Rhea will be a housemate or she will perform on the opening night of the show on Saturday or was it just a coincidence that she was at the studio at the same time as Prakash and Kaur, who may perform in the first episode.

Reports also suggest that the Chehre actress has been offered a whopping Rs 35 lakh per week for participating in the show. However, nothing is confirmed as of now.

Late Sidharth Shukla, who emerged as the winner of Bigg Boss 13 was reportedly paid around Rs 35-40 lakh for a two-week stay inside the show. Rashami Desai, too, was paid a handsome amount of money.

Bollywood actor Nushrratt Bharuccha has earned a Best Actress nomination at the Asian Content Awards by Busan International Film Festival for her role in Netflix anthology Ajeeb Daastaans.

The actor took to her Instagram page and reposted a picture of her nominations which was shared by Dharmatic Entertainment, the production house behind Ajeeb Daastaans. "Ecstatic to be nominated by @busanfilmfest 2021 for its 3rd Asia Contents Awards. Feel honored to see my name alongside other talented actors from different countries. Ajeeb Daastaans journey is still getting sweeter by the day", she wrote.

Nushrratt Bharuccha plays maid in 'Ajeeb Daastaans: Khilauna'

Netflix's anthology Ajeeb Daastaans, consists of the four short film segments directed by Raj Mehta, Shashank Khaitan, Neeraj Ghaywan, and Kayoze Irani. All four short stories reveal the surprising ways in which unexpected catalysts inflame the uncomfortable emotions simmering in fractured relationships. Khilauna is one of the short films directed by Raj Mehta which stars Nushrratt Bharuccha And Abhishek Banerjee in the lead role.

Khilauna follows the story of two orphan sisters Meenal played by Nushrat Bharuccha and Binny played by Inayat Verma, who are trying to make things better for themselves. Meenal works as a maid in a rich household in order to educate Binny, who goes to government school. While Meenal gets romantically involved with Sushil, a laundryman essayed by Abhishek Banerjee.

Meanwhile, the 3rd Asian Contents Award is run by Busan International Film Festival which is scheduled to take place on October 7 virtually and in person. Nushrratt has been nominated for Best Actress and will compete against Tsuchiya Tao of Alice In Borderland, Song Jia of A Little Dilemma, Bae Doo-na of Stranger 2, and Lee Si-young of Sweet Home. 

Besides Nushrratt, actor Ali Fazal has also bagged nominations under the Best Actor category for his Netflix series Ray. He will compete against Terrance Lau in Leap Day, Bai Yu in The Long Night, Lee Je-hoon in Move to Heaven, Sakai Masato in Hanzawa Naoki, and Song Joong Ki in Vincenzo.

Esha Gupta: A lot of actresses have got their colour lightened, but I never understood that concept

During her childhood, Esha Gupta was often called ‘Kali maa’ not because she was powerful like the Goddess but because she has a dark complexion. At that age, she never understood the name-calling and did not pay heed to it. However, the actor was shocked to have faced it again when she entered Bollywood with people taking it a step further and suggesting she go for skin whitening procedures.

“When I became an actor, and my first film came, I remember when I used to go to meetings or auditions, people used to say, ‘Oh, you should do your colour light or take those injections, which cost a lot of money’,” reveals Gupta, adding, “Because a lot of actresses have done that and changed the colour... but I never understood that concept”.

For her, the decision to alter anything about one’s personality or body should come from within, and not due to outside pressure.

“I am okay with someone changing his/her nose. I am okay if they get it changed because they don’t like it. But I am okay with my body and features. There were also moments when some people told me, ‘You will never get that girl next door or cute role’. I am fine with it. I don’t even want it, but don’t say that it is because of my colour,” says Gupta, who made her Bollywood debut with Jannat 2 in 2012.

At one point, she was advised to go under the knife to get her nose changed. “Someone even told me that I should change my nose because my nose is not sharp like other actresses. My nose is small and round. Initially, it affected me mentally.”

It was hard for the Rustom (2016) and Nakaab actor to escape such judgements, and she is glad that she didn’t let her confidence waver. She recalls, “I had to go for a surgery because I have deviated septum and have problem breathing, but I never did it because I was so scared that my nose’ shape might change”.

Looking back at her years growing up in India as a dusky girl, Gupta confesses, “When I was a kid, I wasn’t as dark as how much I do today. As a toddler, I took some wrong pills, following which I was hospitalised and had to get a blood transfusion. After that I became very weak and dark”.

She recalls how some distant relatives used to pass snide remarks, as she puts, “They were always telling my mom that ek aur ladki ho gayi, aur woh bhi dark hai, We feel so sorry for you’”.

“I remember one of my aunts used to call me ke Kaali Maa, and I used to get upset about it. My maasi used to question her, and say, ‘She is a goddess, so I don’t know what you are trying to say’. So, I have always been very conscious about how I look when I was a kid”.

Now, she is confident about her looks as well as her skin colour, and credits time spent as a model behind it. “When I started modelling, everyone just loved my colour. Because the people in fashion are much more advanced,” she shares, adding that her time on foreign shores also helped her realise it.

“It was only during the pandemic that I started working abroad because I was in Spain for a long time. When I used to venture out, everyone would compliment my skin tone, and ask me how I got it, which I realised that it is my Indian skin tone, and that people do love it,” the actor says while wrapping up.

Bollywood star Nora Fatehi joins Sunny Leone, Ayushmann at Dubai’s Filmfare Achievers night

Bollywood star Nora Fatehi and Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly are the latest celebrity names to join the Filmfare Middle East Achievers Night awards, which will be held in the UAE on October 28 at The Meydan Hotel.

Fatehi, who impressed fans with her dance moves in films such as ‘Street Dancer 3D’ and songs that include ‘Dilbar’ (‘Satyameva Jayate) and ‘Kamariya’ (‘Stree’), is bound to show off her skills at the glittering event in Dubai.

Fatehi will join Malayalam cinema's talented star Nivin Pauly who impressed fans with his role in the 2012 hit 'Thattathin Marayathu', followed by 2014's 'Bangalore Days'. The talented stars will join the podium in Dubai with Bollywood actors Aysuhmann Khurrana and Sunny Leone who will also attend the Filmfare Middle East Achievers Night.

Several other big names from Bollywood who are attending as well include Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shefali Shah, Jaideep Ahlawat, Shruti Haasan and Gulshan Grover.

The Bollywood star wattage will also dial up further with talents such as Urvashi Rautela, Zareen Khan, Sunil Grover, Maniesh Paul (who will serve as host), singer Udit Narayan, singer Tulsi Kumar, singer Kanika Kapoor who are also confirmed to attend the glittering event.

Indian model-actress Walushca De Sousa will also be the co-host on the night, while designer to the stars Manish Malhotra will also be in attendance.

The Pakistani film industry will be represented by the talented Mahira Khan, Maya Ali, veteran actor Jawed Sheikh, Humayun Saeed and Shehreyar Munawar.

Other notable names attending include Omani actress Buthaina Al Raisi, Iraqi singer Sattar Saad and tennis ace Sania Mirza.

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu releases short film ‘Vulnerable’ on standards of beauty

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu released the short film ‘Vulnerable: Scars That You Don’t See’ in India through her social media handle. A collaboration of film producer Shabinaa Khan and Kulsum Shadab Wahab, the short film now streams on YouTube.

The film premiered at Milano Fashion Week.

Premised on breaking binaries, the film advocates inclusivity and equality. It is the first Indian short film made on decategorising the regimented standards of beauty. It features people of diverse ethnicities, races and acid attack survivors of Hothur Foundation.

Kulsum Shadab Wahab, Executive Director Hothur Foundation and founder Ara Lumiere says, “We are born into a world where everything is mapped out by those before us. That world doesn’t exist anymore and its rules of separation don’t apply. ‘Vulnerable’ is our manifesto of freedom and inclusion. Through the power of ‘art and ‘equity’ we can manifest a world of compassion, love and understanding.”

Film producer Shabinaa Khan shared, “How often have we second-guessed our decisions because of who we think we are? The labels assigned to us limit our expression and existence. Through ‘Vulnerable’, we want to celebrate individuality and make inclusivity the status quo. I hope viewers revel in the new age of freedom.”

The Rustom actor revealed she was called ‘kali maa’ during childhood because of her skin complexion. However, when she entered the film industry she faced the same bias.

Yesteryear actress Mumtaz had a get-together with with her old co-star Dharmendra on Sunday. Dharmendra’s first wife Prakash Kaur and Mumtaz’s sister were also present at the get-together.

Taking to its Instagram handle, a fan page of the actress shared two pictures and wrote, “So sweet” with a red heart emoji. In the images, both Dharmendra and Mumtaz were seen sharing a warm hug. Dharmendra was in an olive green shirt and a black cap as he puts his arm around Mumtaz and the latter was in a pink and gold outfit. Dharmendra and Mumtaz worked together in movies like Jheel Ke Us Paar, Loafer among others.

As per a report in ETimes, Mumtaz and her sister had a chat with Dharmendra and Prakash for 2-3 hours.

For the unversed, Dharmendra and Prakash Kaur married in 1954. They have four children-Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeeta Deol and Ajeeta Deol. Dharmendra married Hema Malini in 1980. In an interview with Stardust in 1981, Prakash Kaur told, “Why only my husband, any man would want have preferred Hema to me. Marvels Studios’ biggie Eternals, from Oscar Award-winning director Chloe Zhao, is all set for release on Diwali, later this year. It has also been announced by Rohit Shetty that has much awaited film Sooryavanshi, featuring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles will arrive in cinemas on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, leading to a huge clash at the cinema screens.

Even though it is not confirmed yet, Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma starrer Antim: The Final Truth may also release on Diwali. Director Mahesh Manjrekar has confirmed Antim release date in November. Even if Antim is out of the competition due to change in release date, Sooryavanshi and Eternals clashing at the box office is confirmed.

Stylish Star Allu Arjun has gained pan-India popularity with his viral tracks Butta Bomma and Seeti Maar. His anticipated movie Pushpa-Part I with Fahadh Fassil is set for Christmas release after being delayed during the pandemic. Ranveer Singh starrer cricket film ’83, in which he features as Kapil Dev is also set for Christmas release.

A couple of days prior, on December 22, The fourth installment of The Matrix franchise is also releasing internationally. Apart from John Wick star Keanu Reeves and returning actress Carrie Anne-Moss, The Matrix 4 also features Priyanka Chopra Jonas in a role.

KGF-Chapter 2 and Bhediya

Yash and Sanjay Dutt starrer action film KGF: Chapter 2 is highly awaited after being delayed several times amid the pandemic. It is finally arriving in cinemas on April 14. Meanwhile, it was announced by the makers of Bhediya, a horror comedy featuring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, that the movie will also be releasing on the same day.

Heropanti 2 starring Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria is set for April 29 release on the auspicious occasion of Eid. Meanwhile Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh’s MayDay is also set to release on the same day. Earlier, Heropanti 2 changed release date twice to avoid clash with Hollywood biggie Thor: Love and Thunder, set for May 6 release worldwide, but a Bollywood clash is confirmed.

Adipurush and Raksha Bandhan

It has been confirmed that Akshay Kumar and Prabhas will clash at the box office during the Independence Day weekend. Akshay’s Raksha Bandhan and Prbhas and Saif Ali Khan’s retelling of Ramayana, Adipurush, will be releasing on the same day, August 11, in 2022.

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif of Tuesday wished actor Sunny Kaushal on his birthday. The actor, who turned 32, is the brother of Katrina’s rumoured boyfriend Vicky Kaushal. Katrina and Vicky have reportedly been dating for a couple of years now and have been spotted together multiple times. However, there has been no confirmation from either side. Recently, a report stating that they were engaged, also surfaced on social media, but was denied by their teams. Now, Katrina wishing Sunny has again fired up rumours that she is dating the Uri: The Surgical Strike actor.

Taking to Instagram stories, Katrina shared a picture of Sunny, wear he could be seen donning a denim jacket, printed shirt and sunglasses. She wrote, “Happiest birthday @sunsunnykhez. May your days be filled with sunshine, joy and love.”

Meanwhile, Katrina is currently shooting for Tiger 3 in Europe with Salman Khan and Emraan Hashmi. Tiger 3 is the third part of the YRF (Yash Raj Films) spy-thriller franchise. Ek Tha Tiger (2012), the first movie in the franchise, chronicled the story of an Indian spy (RAW) code-named Tiger, who falls in love with a Pakistani spy (Kaif) during an investigation. It was directed by Kabir Khan. On the other hand, Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), saw Tiger and Zoya go on a mission to save a group of hostages held by a militant terrorist organization in Iraq. The second film was helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar.

Katrina will be seen in Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi opposite Akshay Kumar, which will release on Diwali 2021. She also has the horror-comedy Phone Bhoot lined up. It has been directed by Gurmmeet Singh and also features Ishaan Khatter and Siddhant Chaturvedi. She will also be seen in Farhan Akhtar's Jee Le Zara with Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt.

Vicky, on the other hand, will be next seen in Shoojit Sircar’s Sardar Udham Singh. The film will release on Amazon Prime Video on october 16. He will also be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur, Shashank Khaitan’s Mr Lele and Aditya Dhar’s The Immortal Ashwatthama in the pipeline.

He is all set to make his Bollywood debut, and it will be for actor Vijay Deverakonda and actress Ananya Panday’s upcoming film ‘Liger’. Kangana Ranaut has talked about how her weight adjustments for her latest ‘Thalaivii’ that “messed up many things” in her body and left her with “permanent stretch marks”.

For her role in the film, based on the life of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and former actress J. Jayalalithaa, the actress had to gain 20kg and undergo major physical transformation several times.

Kangana Ranaut took to Instagram to share her experience, detailing that doing all that over the six months period left her with ‘permanent stretch mark’ for Thalaivii.

“Gaining 20 kgs in 6 months and loosing it all within 6 months that too in my thirties messed up many things in my body. I also have permanent stretch marks as well but art comes to life with a price and more often than not price is the artist him/herself,” wrote Thalaivii actress Kangana Ranaut.

‘Thalaivii’ showcases the varied aspects of Jayalalithaa’s life, tracing her journey as an actress at a young age to becoming the face of Tamil cinema, as well as the rise of the revolutionary leader who changed the course of the state’s politics. Talking about her upcoming works, the Queen actress is currently has ‘Dhaakad’.

Apart from Thalaivii, Kangana Ranaut is also shooting for her next ‘Tejas’, where she plays a fighter pilot. The Indian Air Force was the first of the country’s defence forces to induct women into combat roles in 2016.

The film takes inspiration from the landmark event. ‘Tejas’ is directed by debutant Sarvesh Mewara. The film will be RSVP’s second film which pays a tribute to the Indian military after the immensely successful film “Uri: The Surgical Strike” which was released in January 2019.

‘Am I Raj Kundra? Do I look like him?’: Shilpa Shetty blasts journalist questioning actress about husband

Last week, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty's husband and businessman Raj Kundra secured bail at a surety of Rs 50,000 after spending 60 days in jail after he was arrested by the police in connection to pornography racket case. As the actress continues to be in news, an old video of her has resurfaced on the Internet. The video is of an old press conference when Shilpa was seen shutting down a journalist who questioned the actress about her husband amidst a legal battle against gutka barons son and actor Sachin Joshi in an alleged gold case. 

"Main Raj Kundra hoon? Main uske jaisi lagti hoon? Nahi nahi, main kaun hoon (Am I Raj Kundra? Do I look like him? Who am I)?” the actress said in the viral video

“I really believe as a celebrity you should never complain and you should never explain. Yeh meri zindagi ki philosophy rahi hai (This has been my life’s philosophy),” she added.

The video has resurfaced amidst Raj Kundra's name being connected to a pornography racket. Earlier, the Bollywood actress informed Mumbai Police that she remained too tied up in her work to know the porn apps or other activities of her husband Raj Kundra. Shilpa stated that Kundra had launched Viaan Industries Ltd around April 2015 and she was on the board till July 2020 when she quit owing to personal reasons, as stated in the charge sheet filed by the police against Kundra and his associate Ryan Thorpe.

According to the police probe, Kundra allegedly used his company's Mumbai offices to manage the daily operations of the sleaze content racket and upload it through the HotShots and Bollyfame apps for paid viewers.

The nearly 1,500-page charge sheet also contains details of the investigations and the evidence collected against the 11 accused arrested till date, plus two others wanted accused in the same case, Kundra's brother-in-law Sandeep Bakshi and Yash Thakur - to show how the entire paid sleaze content racket was being run.

The police during its raid on Kundra's homes on July 23 and the Viaan offices in Andheri on July 24, had seized incriminating documents, laptops, portable hard-disks, and also recovered a laptop from Thorpe.

All the electronic devices were subjected to various forensic tests to gather further evidence pertaining to the sensational case.

Besides Shilpa, the police have recorded the statements, including some before a magistrate, of at least 42 other witnesses, including models, films or television actresses, against Kundra and Thorpe.

The smut racket was exposed after the Malad police raided a bungalow in Madh Island in February, the subsequent nabbing of 9 accused, and finally the arrest of Kundra and Thorpe on July 19, shocking the entertainment industry.

Controversial boxer Mike Tyson turns Bollywood movie star in Karan Johar’s ‘Liger’

Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson has bagged his first Bollywood project with a starring role in Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Liger’.

The film will also mark Deverakonda’s big Bollywood debut under filmmaker Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Starring alongside the Telugu star will be actress Ananya Pandey.

Tyson’s big debut was announced by Johar on social media. “For the first time ever, the king of the ring will be seen on the big screens of Indian cinema! Welcoming @MikeTyson to the #LIGER team! (sic),” Johar wrote on Twitter.

Deverakonda also made the announcement on his social media, with a poster that saw half his face merged with that of Tyson. “We promised you Madness! We are just getting started. For the first time on Indian Screens. Joining our mass spectacle - #LIGER The Baddest Man on the Planet. The God of Boxing. The Legend, the Beast, the Greatest of all Time! IRON MIKE TYSON”

According to reports, Tyson is said to make a cameo appearance in the climax portions of the film, which is releasing in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages.

The American boxer ruled the ring as Iron Mike between 1985 and 2005, however, Tyson fell from grace in 1992 when he was convicted of rape and sentenced to six years in prison; although he was released on parole after three years and staged a comeback in sports.

Tyson has previously appeared in movies such as ‘The Hangover’ and ‘Pharaoh’s War’.

Juhi Chawla Recalls Nearly Getting A ‘Thappad’ From Farah Khan!

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla has recalled memories of times when she along with others on the set would 'nearly get a slap' from choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan and how everyone used to be scared of her.

Juhi said this on the sets of 'Zee Comedy Show' where she will feature as a special guest this weekend. Farah plays the role of the 'Laughing Buddha' on the show.

Talking about the same, Juhi said: "I have seen Zee Comedy Show earlier as well and I've seen how Farah very sweetly gives all the comedians a Faratedaar Thappa, but when we used to work with her, we would nearly get a 'thappad'."

"At times, she would come on set, and everyone would be working hard and rehearsing, but she might not like what we were doing. So, in front of the whole unit, she would take the mike and scream, 'What rubbish is this? What rubbish are you all doing?' We would be scared and terrified," she added.

Reacting to Juhi's words, Farah commented: "To be fair, they were doing rubbish, 'kuch bhi kar rahe the vo log us din'. But we've done several great songs together and we've had our fair share of fun too. Juhi is one of the most talented actresses and dancers I know, and I've had a great time working with her."

Dev Anand belonged to a legendary league of actors who changed Indian cinema with their acting prowess. Born as Dharam Dev Anand on September 26, 1923, in Punjab’s Gurdaspur, the iconic star started off his career with a job as a Military censor officer in Mumbai (then Bombay) in the early 40s. Lara Dutta Talks About The Promise She Made To Mahesh Bhupathi Before The Birth Of Their Daughter

Bollywood actress, Lara Dutta is one of the gorgeous mommy, who knows how to strike a perfect work-life balance. She has been inspiring many moms with her parenting skills and the zeal with which she looks at her career. Recently, Lara Dutta talked about the promise she had made to her husband, Mahesh Bhupathi, the ace tennis player, before the birth of their daughter, Saira.

For the unversed, it was on February 16, 2011, when Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupati had tied the knot in a civil ceremony. And on January 20, 2012, the couple was blessed with a little angel, whom they have named, Saira Bhupati.

Recently, in an interview with The Times of India, Lara talked about the promise she had made her husband, Mahesh before the birth of their daughter. And in the last 10 years, we've managed to keep that promise."

Lara further revealed that whenever she is doing a film, Mahesh makes sure that he is with their daughter all the time. And if If he's away at work, playing in the tennis tour, she takes a sabbatical and makes sure that she is present in their daughter's life. 

On September 26, 2021, Lara shared a cute picture with her daughter, Saira. In the picture, we can see her giving a hug to her baby girl. Along with it, she penned a daughter's day wish for her and wrote, "Obiviously her futures bright! #DaughtersDay."

Earlier, in an interview with the PTI, Lara had opened up on motherhood and had shared, "You spend many sleepless nights even before the child is born, figuring out whether you'll be a good mother, be able to live up to everything that's expected. But no amount of worry is going to prepare you when the child is born. Each child goes through its own phases as well. One point of time they are the best-behaved child and then they are the opposite. The day you decide to become a parent, you're signing up for one of the greatest adventures of life which doesn't stop ever."
