Amy Schumer shares graphic childbirth photo for National Bikini Day

Expect the unexpected with Amy Schumer, who surprised fans with her National Bikini Day post.

The comedian, 40, sparked supportive fan reactions with her latest Instagram post Friday: a graphic photo from the day she gave birth to her son, Gene, via C-section. In the throwback picture, Schumer is seen holding her newborn while laying on the operation table.

"#nationalbikiniday," Schumer wittily captioned the post.

Fellow celebrity mothers shared their support, with her "I Feel Pretty" co-star and recent mom-of-one Emily Ratajkowski sending heart-eyed emojis.

Katie Couric also added heart emojis, while actress Amber Tamblyn quipped, "Hot C-section Summer."

"I actually can’t with you, Schumer," said "Orange is the New Black" actress Uzo Aduba.

Fans also applauded Schumer for her post, with user @lizziehuxley calling her a "warrior."

"Wonderful photo! Anyone who says c-sec is the easy option I want you to take a long hard look at this image. Just a woman’s internal organs in show after she’s spent most of a year growing another human," she wrote.

"I was just thinking about how I can’t wear a bikini because of my belly/c section scar but then I looked at pictures of that day and remembered I created a HUMAN! Thank you for sharing yours," user @lolashea88 added.

Amy Schumer:changes son Gene Attell's name after realizing first attempt sounded NSFW

Schumer, who gave birth to her son Gene in May 2019, took to Instagram on her son's first birthday in 2020 to thank her husband Chris Fischer for his love and support during her three-hour C-section. She also opened up about her husband being on the autism spectrum and encouraged her followers to educate themselves on autism.

"We want to encourage parents and people to give themselves the gift of information so people can function to the best of their abilities and remove any stigma that comes with autism," she wrote. "Statistically our son most likely will be diagnosed as well and if he’s anything like his father that is wonderful news."

Less than three months after giving birth, the comedian showed off her "warm soft post baby body" on Instagram, adding that she's "grateful to be feeling so strong again!"

Later that year, Schumer also got candid about how becoming a mother strengthened her relationship with her own mom.

"I'm just nicer to my mom," she said in a November 2019 interview with ET.

Months after unveiling her son's original full name on Instagram, Gene Attell Fischer, Schumer revealed she and her husband altered his name after realizing their first try sounded NSFW. She clarified that her son's original middle name was meant as a nod to her friend and fellow comedian, Dave Attell.

Though Schumer said Attell was "so honored" to have her son named after him, she said "David" is better, because it's also her dad's middle name.
