Unquestionably, the fashion industry in India is thriving. As time passes, fashion trends shift and develop new directions. Despite the industry’s zigzag motion, there’s one constant in the fashion graph: Indian sarees.

Some of our favourite Bollywood stars seem to have fallen in love with an earlier time. Suddenly, “retro” has become a popular buzzword, and timeless classics are making a comeback! It’s all about the revival of past trends, weaves, and dressing styles. In the recently concluded Lakme Fashion Week 2017, designers paid tribute to these time-tested design and fashion elements in a barrage of collections.
THE ERA OF SAREES:
Histories repeat themselves a lot of the time! Fashion and beauty trends are prime examples. Today, we are witnessing a revival of everything you loved, or perhaps even despised, about the 1990’s. Since then, they’ve come back in style. Like me, you might find it strange that we’re old enough to remember styles that are making a comeback now. Unsure of how you feel about it, but I’m totally on board with the 90s style revival.
It brought me back to my childhood when I saw all these trends making a comeback! Bollywood actresses of that era wore these trends and popularised them among the public. So many of us tried to copy the outfits we saw on screen on our favourite Bollywood heroines, because fashion and Bollywood go hand in hand. All these familiar trends are making a comeback, so I decided to take a trip down memory lane to see what I remembered. See how our Hollywood stars wore these current trends back in the ’90s.
