- Ashanti, 40, showed off her super toned body wearing a bikini and strutting her stuff in a new Instagram video.
- The singer and actress shared she's "been in the gym 33 days," and her hard work certainly shows.
- Ashanti trains with Raheem Chatman four to five times a week incorporating mobility, strength, and endurance.
When you exercise hard, you look and feel good—and if you happen to want to show off the results, then more power to you. Ashanti knows the deal, because she just dropped a video post on Instagram that’s so relatable. (Well, if seriously sculpted abs and overflowing confidence are relatable.)
"Energy ✨✨✨π« When u been in the gym 33 days and you’re eating fries tonight!!! ππΎππΎπ€£" she hilariously wrote in the caption. In the video, the 40-year-old singer-actress can be seen sashaying in a purple string bikini and cover-up in front of what appears to be a gold elephant skeleton. (FYI, that's Damien Hirst’s gilded mammoth, "Gone but not Forgotten," displayed outside Miami's Faena Hotel.) The real star is Ashanti. She looks fit and toned, and clearly proud of herself.
People were all about it in the comments. “Drop it π₯,” one wrote. “She worked hard for that body ππΌ,” someone else said.

Ashanti has made it clear that she makes working out a priority—both for her health and her career. “If I want to maintain longevity with traveling and being on stage, I have to take care of my body,” she previously told Parade.
That means working with her trainer Raheem Chatman four to five times a week to do weight training, cardio, and running. “I’m kind of a tomboy and I’m very competitive so I never want him to beat me,” she told the publication. “Sometimes he has me work on mobility, other times endurance, and then we’ll go for strength. I think it’s important to mix it up and hit different parts of your body. We’ll do the Stairmaster, lots of core.”
When she’s on the road, Ashanti said she always has her jump rope handy. “I definitely try to do stuff when I’m not with my trainer and he’s always paying attention to what I am or am not doing though,” she told Parade. “When I’m not at home, he’ll text me a workout and I’ll try to get it done. I’ll try to do crunches and jump rope and pushups and stuff on my own. I try!"

Chatman has shared a few BTS videos of Ashanti’s workouts, including one that features her jumping rope going forward and backward on a sidewalk, and doing intense-looking footwork on a set of stairs. He also had her do box jumps on playground equipment.

In another Instagram Story video shared by Chatman, Ashanti can be seen jumping rope on a track like a pro.
Ashanti also shared that she works out with Donamatrix—who also trains the Kardashians—when she’s in L.A. “He’s completely different than my trainer in New York. So I feel like I’m in a really good position to have the best of both worlds on either coast,” she said.
On the food front, Ashanti follows a most plant-based, pescatarian diet (Read: she eats fish but no other meat). “I try to stay away from carbs and I know diet is super essential to being healthy and maintaining and trying to stay fit,” she told Parade. “But I do have two cheat days and I look forward to them every week. I try to make it the weekend for those but sometimes I get tempted during the week. So I’ll be like, ‘OK, I’m going to use Taco Tuesday as my day!’”
Anyone got a jump rope?
